Been to a European League game between Bayern München and Tel Aviv, in December 2022.
It was the first time for me watching a basketball game live at the stadium and compared to football it’s a very different experience:
- You’re closer to the action (the court).
- Compared to the average football stadium, a basketball arena is smaller and never has an open roof. So the atmosphere is different; it’s enclosed, it’s louder, and just more intense.
- Basketball games are faster-paced with more frequent scoring.
- Much more emphasis on entertainment, like halftime shows, cheerleaders, etc.
If there’s a game taking place while you’re in Munich, I can definitely recommend checking it out! Tickets are rather cheap compared to football.
